Occupation - basketball, running footballers, rappers
Values/attitudes - religious attitudes

Celebration/culture - Parties/events - instruments, bright colours

Important things to them - Religion/church, equality, family

Abilities - Sports

Travellers

Occupation - Farming, scrap metal collecting, cash in hand jobs

Values/attitudes - stick together, want freedom, early marriages

Celebration/culture - Big weddings, christenings, funerals, fights and ceremonies

Now we have to look for these stereotypes to see if they are being challenged or reinforced.
Difference and power, white is seen as the more dominant group, all the other cultures are seen as being different or in conflict with white culture.

Screening 2 Primeval

Mise - en - scene:

- Close up of mans hand showing what he is putting down.
- High angle on the man shows power between tiger and man.
- Close up of man showing fear.
- Point of view shot when the man is on the zip wire line.

Editing:
- Units, cuts between the sequences.
- Shot reverse shot between the man and women, the men have more time on screen showing their power.
- Editing pace changes at more intense moments.
- The tiger is edited to create the effect, continuity.

Screening 1 Primeval

- Women driving a digger shows her being masculine.
- The tiger has power over the man, as the man looks subordinate.
- The women in the digger is trying to fight off the tiger showing that the power has changed to her.
- As the man tries to distract the tiger he seems to have the power over him but acts in a feminine way by running but doesn't panic tries to be in control.
- The women has a gun and shoots the tiger again showing her being masculine.
- The women is in a mans environment which makes her act the way she does.
- The 2nd man has power over the other women in the barn as he has a gun pointing at her. She is worried about her getting dirty even though she is in the situation she is in.
- The 1st women intimidates the 2nd man as she points a gun at him.
- One of the other men picks up a shovel showing he is acting more feminine.
- Stereotypes are challenged.

Commentary analysing the storyboard

In the Dr Who sequence we created a storyboard showing that Rory had more power over everyone than anyone else did. Although there is more than one male he seems the more dominant of the two. There are two Amy's and they both acts in a masculine way as they try to save Rory when he is nearly being attacked. Our storyboard consists of an over the shoulder shot with shows the power that the character has. Also the close up represents the emotion of Rory, the Doctor and Amy. As Amy is a female it would be thought that the women are normally the subordinate of the two when in fact although she does not have the most power she doesn't act very feminine. We decided for our storyboard that we were going to do more close ups as this focuses on just the person that's in the shot.

AMY knocks on the door of the Tardis and implores the occupants

AMY

Doctor!

Bangs again

She stops, softly says

AMY

Rory...please. The look on your face when you carrier her. HER.

Rory reacts, his hear breaking

AMY

When you carried her away. You used to look at me like that. I’d forgotten how much you loved me, id forgotten how much I loved being her.

Rory struggles with his decision choocing to let the future version of his wife go

(bust shot)

AMY

Amy Pond in the Tardis...with Rory Williams.

(over the shoulder)

Effectively condemning his wife to death, Rory makes his decision and locks the door to the Tardis.

AMY (Now determined)

If you love me then don’t let me in. Open the door and I’ll come in – I don’t want to die, I wont bow out bravely I’ll be kicking, screaming fighting til the end.
